Hot Lunch Program – Food Allergies:  Since Zion participates in the National School Lunch Program, we are reviewed by the state every 3 years.  Last spring we had our Administrative Review with the state, and it was brought to our attention that we need a note from a doctor when a student require substitutions for lunch – milk included.  Please send a note from your doctor or chiropractor to the school office specifying which foods your student can’t have.

Parents Back to School Night - Thursday, August 28th:  The event will start at 6:30.  Three sessions will run from 6:30 to 6:50, 7:00 to 7:20 and 7:30 to 7:50.  The office will announce the changing times.  I will go over procedures and expectations.  The first session will include a time for new families to meet in the library with Mr. Debrick to review basic procedures.

Dedication weekend - Sept. 6 and 7:  Please join us after your worship service (5:00 Saturday, 8 and 10:30 on Sunday) for our new building dedication. A ribbon cutting will take place at the end of all services along with a small reception in the commons area.  All rooms in all buildings will be open after the dedication to show off our fantastic new facilities. All worship services will be held in the school gym.  Monday service will be regular service in the church.

Reflecting on our week:
We had a GREAT week! I am blessed to have such a great group of second graders! Take a look at some of the things we did this week.

We played a few games to get to know each other.

We asked questions to find out new things about our old friends and learn about our new friends.

We used investigation skills to explore science tools.

We learned how to use our classroom library to find "just right" books.

Looking forward to next week and
making it even better than the last!!!
