*Lesson 16 was scheduled for the last week in the second quarter but due to the lack of classroom time with advent service practice, Polar Express day, and the Christmas party it has been moved to the end of the school year.

Phonics/Grammar:
-er and -est endings
Noun, verb, and adjective sorting and review

Social Studies:

Factories

Math: Test Friday
regrouping and algorithms
*The math fact assessments will be over 100 addition facts for the remainder of the school year. I will not require students to meet the time requirement of 5 min. until we have gotten back into the groove of school. We will work on facts in the morning and during math but it would be a good idea for your child to work on flash cards or use a math app (My Math App) to help them practice for a few extra min. everyday if they are struggling to meet this requirement. You might also want to use a blank piece of paper when they are doing their fact homework sheet to cover up the extra rows, allowing them to only focus on one row at a time. Some children get overwhelmed by the number of problems on the page; once that is added to the stress of being timed some students freeze up.

Science:
Chapter 10 Physical Changes

Important Information/Reminders:
Don't forget Donuts for Dads is coming up on Wednesday, January 13th.

We sing on January 24th at the 10:30 service.
