Important Information/Dates:
Do you ever wonder why teachers assign projects? Aside from the fun and change of pace these projects bring, teachers are tying to tap into the students higher level thinking.
As you can see, remembering takes the least amount of brain work. Allowing a student to creatively demonstrate their knowledge shows a much deeper understanding of material. Providing students with rubrics (such as the latest Barefoot Island project) gives students an understand what the teacher is expecting from their end product.
Auction Round Up will be held from November 17th –21st.
Reflecting on our week: We took advantage of the nice weather this week and had our science and religion lesson outside. This week was a mix of beautiful fall days and cold wet days!
We completed our flag artwork, glued our letters to Veterans on the back and shipped them off to Operation Gratitude! I am proud of the letters the students wrote. They were very moving! These second graders have such big hearts and they showed Jesus love in the things they wrote. The recipients will be overwhelmed and touched!
