Important Information/Reminders:
Our class has decided we would like to help clean up the grassy area around our playground. During our harvest party we will pick up the rocks, fill in holes with dirt, spread grass seed, rope off the area, and put up signs to help remind others to stay off the area so the grass can grow. We will also sweep up the mulch around the playground and trim some of the trees. I will allow class time at the end of the day for students to water the seed and provide any upkeep until winter. I look forward to working along side your children to help care for and maintain our school yard.

End of First Quarter is coming fast (October 9th). Continue to encourage your child to read their AR books to reach their goals.

Reflecting on our week:
I brought in a real pumpkin to help students use their senses to spice up their writing.
We practiced finding answers to questions in our science textbook.
We did a science experiment with eggs to talk about fresh water and salty water. I asked them where the salt in the ocean came from, everyone answered correctly by saying, "GOD!" However, we took a closer look at the science of it. We also discussed what happens to the salt within the water cycle. Ask your child about our experiment and what they learned, maybe they can even demonstrate it for you!

HELP FRED CROSS THE RIVER! This was our STEM challenge today. Using our plan, design, test, modify model students helped their gummy worm, Fred, cross the river without getting wet.
