Memory: For your were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s. 1 Corinthians 6:20
Spelling: We took our last recorded spelling test on Friday!
We will focus our attention on spelling HFW (high frequency words) for the rest of the school year. These are words that students should be able to spell correctly in their daily writing. We will focus on 50 words per week. Their "pretest" will come home on Monday for parents to offer assistance to those whom need it.
Grammar: Test Friday (This will be our last recorded grammar test. We will continue to focus on transfering our grammar skills into our writing.)
Reviewing the articles a and an and when they should be used.
Math: We took our last math test of the year on Friday!
We will finish out the year reviewing past concepts along with continued addition and subtraction fact practice during center work.
A few new concepts will still be introduced and we will continue working on multiplication but students will not have a formal test on the information that will be recorded in the grade book.

Important Information/Reminders:
Botanical Gardens:
Your schools are invited to our May 12th Family Night at the Garden! And yes, this means the whole school – all students in all grades, all teachers, all staff, and their respective families. This special evening is an annual event in which we thank our school partners (like you) and our community partners for working alongside us during the school year.
Attendees that night will enjoy:
o Free admission to the Garden and the Children’s Garden,
o A light meal and
o Activities on the grounds,
o An opportunity to explore and play in our new Brookings Exploration Center and
o A chance to experience educational fun in the PlantLab!
I’m attaching the event flyer to this E-mail – please feel free to print and circulate it! The event runs from 5:30-7:30 on May 12, 2016. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy the Garden as a school community!
Summer Camp:
The enrollment for Summer Camp 2016 is now open. You can download copies of the registrations forms and camp calendars at the link below:
We had a fantastic time reading our I Survived book this week. We started the week with an old video from 1906 of a comparison walk down Market Street in San Francisco. One side of the screen was four days before the earthquake, and the right side of the screen was a walk down the same street among the aftermath of the devastating earthquake. I hope I sparked a few new interests in the I Survived series for summer reading!
Dress like your favorite book character Day!
Our very own Killian was baptized during our Thursday school chapel service! This was such an awesome day for many reasons, but I am so happy that the entire school got a chance to witness this special day for Killian!
