Please continue to encourage your child to get their 25 problem fact practice sheet done in under 2 min.
Here are some helpful ideas if your child is struggling to meet this goal:1) Make flashcards out of notecards and review every night.
2) Do a quick review before students sit down to start homework sheet.
3) Students could practice on an app every morning before school and after, or in the car on the way to and from school. There are several free apps out there, My Math app ,is a great one. Download a few to mix it up. Sushi monster is also fun, free app to help students practice while playing.
Science: Tests- Create an information guide to natural disasters on Wednesday and Thursday, and a written test on Friday
We will finish our unit on how the Earth can change slowly and quickly.
Students will create an information guide to natural disasters using an app (Snapguide) on the ipads for one of their final assessments. Students will be given a rubric and guidance in using the app along the way. Directions and expectations will be given verbally as well as written in the rubric. This will all be done during class time.
A written test will be given on Friday. Look for a study guide to come home on Wednesday.
Important Information/Reminders:
No School on Tuesday- Election Day!
Please see the note from Mrs. Cluck below:
The Thanksgiving Food Drive is quickly approaching (Nov. 16) . Last year we tried assigning a food item to each class and it worked out great! We collected a great variety of foods for the dinner boxes and had plenty of extras to stock the Seminary food bank. We will stick with the same list as students move from grade to grade they will be able to bring in new items. I made sure each grade had at least two choice, but as always bringing in more is good too! Thank you for your support.
2nd Grade - Stuffing & Boxed Potatoes (mashed, sweet, slices, etc.)

Reflecting on our week:
We are the first place winners in the Red Ribbon door contest!
The students have voted to pass on a snack prize and would rather have an afternoon of art as their prize. I am in the process of planning this fun afternoon! Watch the blog for pics of the fun event.
Olivia and her grandmother made a center monitor sash, just like the hall monitor sash we read about in a class book, to help keep everyone on task. Students pass this around to hard working individuals who help remind students to stay focused during center time.
The students love brain breaks....
