Important Information/Reminders:

Recycled items needed on Monday- Please send in one or more of items on the student generated list below from your recycling bin. Students came up with a list of items that we need for a special visit with our preschool buddy class. Each student will make a hutch (a house for a toy cow).

On Monday our class will go to Mrs. Stanglein's preschool classroom to share information about our adopted cow, Lily. The students have decided that they would like to like to teach the preschoolers about our dairy cow, focusing on what baby cows need. Below is an example of the sheet they will take to help them remember how to take care of dairy calves. In addition, students are going to plan, design, and make a hutch for a toy cow. The preschoolers will take the hutch home with them to share what they learned with their family. I will snap lots of pictures to share with all of you for our blog next week.

Noon dismissal on Wednesday- Happy Thanksgiving!

Scholastic orders- On December 7th  I will place the Scholastic order for December to ensure orders will get here in time. Please let me know if your order is a Christmas gift. I will put it in a Walmart bag and place it in the office so you can pick it up without your child knowing. I'll send you a special email letting you know when it has arrived and ready for pick up. Students came home with a Scholastic book order that might have a few wish list items circled. Remember, a direct link to my Scholastic page is in the right hand column of the class blog.

Reflecting on our week:
Investigating rocks and minerals...

World Sport Stacking Day...

Working as Geologists, we used rock (cookie) models to help us understand that rocks are made up of one or more minerals.
