Math: Test Tuesday
I am planning on giving the math test on Tuesday however, we have hit a few rough patches (telling time to 5 min. intervals and double-digit subtraction) that might need additional time.  

Science/Social Studies:

Ch. 11 Forces 

I plan on giving a unit exam on Friday over Lessons 1-3. This may be adjusted based on the comfort level students have with the material. I will keep you posted if things change.

A study guide will come home on Tuesday. This unit is heavy on new vocabulary. 

Important Information /Reminders:
I have scheduled a field trip to The Painted Pot on March 8th. I am looking for a few parent drivers. Please let me know if you have completed the background check and would be available from 12:15-2:00. 

 BOX TOP contest is going on now until Feb. 21st! Keep those Box Tops coming! 

Jump Rope for Heart is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 23rd. Second grade will participate from 8:10-9:10 in the gym.

Grandparents’ or Special Friends’ Day is scheduled for Friday, March 9th from 8:00-11:00.  
Please plan on having a grandparent or special guest attend.  Your child must have an adult present.
8:00 - 8:30 Arrive anytime between 8:00 - 8:30     
8:00 - 9:45 AM      Guests and students stay together and spend time at various activities.  A map will go home
with students and extra maps will be available that day. Family units decide where they want to start.

Reflecting on our week: On Monday we introduced our new Science unit on Forces and Motion by bringing in The Magic House. 

We celebrated our last class party of second grade on Wednesday. As always, the Room Moms put a lot of time and energy into making it a fun afternoon. THANK YOU ROOM MOMS! <><
