Due to practice times for our musical, we didn't get to spend as much time as I'd like with similies and metaphors so we will continue with those two topics this week

The test will be next Friday (May 11th). This will be our last written test and we will focus heavily on reviewing past concepts and addition/subtraction fact speed for the remainder of the school year. We will continue to review Multiplication facts of 0,1,5,10, and 2(we will be learning our 2's this week) as well.

Science/Social Studies:
Social Studies Ch. 11 and 12- Solving problems in communities

Important Information /Reminders:
We will be practicing for our musical Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:10-11:00. This doesn't leave much time left in our mornings, but I will not rush material. Some things might change in our schedule if I feel like we have not had sufficient time to explore the topics.

We will be going to the History Museum on Friday, May 4th. Be sure to send a cold lunch to school that day. We will miss our regular lunch time and we will eat in our classroom.
Mrs. Raithel, Mrs. Kainady, and Mrs. Hopfer will be our chaperones.

Friday, May 4th is our musical:
1)  We will have a dress rehearsal at 2:00 p.m on Friday, May 4th in the church sanctuary for Zion students and any family members that want to attend.

2) The musical will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 4th.  Please bring your child to the church basement at 5:45 p.m.  Teachers will arrive at 5:45 p.m. so please do not send your child down any earlier.

3)  Dress for that Friday:
School Day: Regular uniform (second graders will have on red Zion t-shirts from the field trip)
*1st and 3rd grade will be in regular school uniforms but second grade will wear the red Zion shirts due to our field trip.
6 p.m. performance:  red Zion t-shirt and khaki bottoms (shorts, pants, or skirts)

4) Teachers are anticipating that students are at both performances.  Please let your child's teacher know if your child will not be attending both performances.

Reflecting on our week: We had fun with Mr. Smith while learning a lot about how to stay safe around electricity.
